Sophia: You can't be serious...
Sophia watched, eyes wide in disbelief, as her Uncle took several t-shirts out of his drawer and made his way over to the bed. Without a word, he put them into an open suitcase, then made his way over to the closet.
Sophia: This isn't right. You can't just walk away from this.
Sean: Lass...
Sean put his arm on Sophia's shoulder.
Sean: Jon and I have talked this over, believe me this is for the best.
Sophia shrugged off his hand, hard.
Sophia: I want to hear that from him... I want to know why the man who told me never to run from anything is walking away.
Kellar: I'm not walking away.
Sophia: Funny, sure as hell looks like it...
Kellar: Silver.
Sophia: You and I both know you don't need ring clearance to go and beat Vernon's head in, so why are you doing this? You could ambush him in the locker room like he did to you, or wait outside his house with a crowbar, or in his car with a wire...
Kellar paused and looked over at Sean, his face a picture perfect "What the hell?". Sean shrugged.
Kellar: Well, that's not terrifying at all...
Sophia: Well excuse me for being passionate about getting even with the man who tried to kill my uncle.
Kellar: Silver, Vengeance isn't Justice, I brought you up better than that...
Sophia: No you didn't.
Kellar thought for a moment.
Kellar: No, you're right, but I should have done. And your aunt certainly did!
Sophia: Don't you dare try and shut me up by bringing her into this! You know I'm right.
Kellar shook his head and carried on.
Sophia: You cannot run away from this.
Kellar: Sophia...
Sophia rolled her eyes. If her uncle used her real name, a lecture almost invariably followed.
Kellar: If I stay here, there's a very good chance of me taking your advice, and putting Vernon Vanderbilt in the ground.
Sophia: So?
Kellar: And that...
Kellar swallowed hard.
Kellar: That wouldn't be good for business.
Sophia's jaw almost hit the floor
Sophia: Are you kidding me?
Kellar: Davis is right. Underground Zero is just starting up, and right now it needs Vernon. He's getting a lot of attention, and that means numbers.
Sophia: You're putting money over proving you're the better man and getting even? Who the hell are you?
Kellar: Sophia.
Sophia: No... no you don't get to lecture me. Ever since we started training you told me that all that mattered was proving that you were the best between the ropes. It was about winning, not the fans, not the merchandise, not the... "numbers". It was about proving you were better than the wrestler standing opposite you, not proving you were the most popular on a chart. Now you're telling me you are going to roll over and take this because it's "good for business?" You.. you hypocrite! You liar! You lied to me!!! You tricked me!!! You..
Kellar: Sophia... you need to cal...
Sophia: You stay the hell away from me...
Sophia turned on her heel and stormed out the door, barely avoiding knocking down an approaching Melissa as she did. Melissa looked after her cousin, then back towards her father before running into his arms. Kellar lifted her up.
Kellar: Ooooof!!! You're getting too big for this...
Melissa: Why is Sophia crying?
Kellar: Well Sophia and Daddy had a bit of a disagreement...
Melissa: What's a disagreement?
Kellar: It's a kind of fight.
Melissa: Who won? Did she kick you in the head?
Kellar: It wasn't... that kind of fight.
Sean: Not quite. Thankfully I think her shock overrode her anger or we'd be picking your teeth out of the rug.
Kellar: You were a lot of help.
Sean: I learned years ago to stay out of the middle of you two...
Kellar put Melissa down on the bed, and turned towards Sean. Unseen, Melissa made her way over to the suitcase and slowly started to empty it.
Kellar: She's right though, this seems wrong.
Sean: We both agreed that you needed some distance from this thing, to figure out what you're going to do next. You need to find a balance between being a promoter and being a competitor, and you can't do that while you're this close. Besides, you haven't been back to England in months, not since Melissa started school.
Kellar: All of these are good points, it just seems wrong leaving Sophia on her own.
Sean: You're not.
Sean took a breath
Sean: I'm not going with you.
Kellar: What? But...
Sean: You don't need a trainer right now, not in your condition. What you need is time at home with your daughter, several cups of tea, and some distance.
Kellar: I'm not retiring Sean, I still need to train, headache or no.
Sean: Jonny boy, I have no doubt you can handle your own training regime for a month or two. I'm not giving you my notice, but I'm also not going to interfere with this soul searching of yours.
Kellar: ...
Sean: It's for the best Jon.
Kellar: Fine...
Sean: Besides...
Sean made his way over to the window and looked out to see Sophia standing in the garden, her head buried in her hands and screaming into them.
Sean: I think I'm needed here.
Sean turned and made his way to the door.
Sean: I'll leave you to finish packing.
Kellar: Actually I'm pretty much done.
Sean turned and smiled
Sean: Really?
Sean left the room. Kellar turned to shut the suitcase, only to find it completely empty, his clothes gone, and Melissa nowhere to be seen. Kellar looked all around, but couldn't see any sign of her.
Kellar: How the hell does she do that?
